Egan set for sale on behalf of a local client.  Circa 1770, stamped Egan on stock - presumed John. Same maker as the Lord Edward Fitzgerald set in the national museum Dublin.  Replacement chanter, but otherwise fully original.  Restored by Peter and fully working, playing in D but would be as happy if not happier in C#. Threaded drone mounts . . . Sensible offers considered. Contact info@hunterpipes.co.uk

I have a concert chanter for sale.  It is the first thing to be made in the new workshop in Leeds, and as such is stamped 001.  The wood is something related to partridge wood, which Bob at timberline recommended to me - it is broadly speaking chocolate coloured and darker than the photos (I am a bit colour blind) and very dense with a very good tone.  The chanter has a C natural key.  Apart from the fact that this is chanter #1 from the Leeds workshop I am not likely to ever make another chanter in this wood (I only had the one piece) or that looks like this with the ferrule below the top mount.  So it's rather special.

Pictures below, soundclips follow here. Recorded (in a hurry, sorry for any cringed ears) directly into a Zoom H1 with no additional processing at all.  Clip 1  Clip 2  Clip 3  Clip 4  Clip 5 Some other clips with the other reed I made for the chanter  Clip 1  Clip 2   Clip 3

Make me an offer, perhaps somewhere around £800.  I'm no longer in a hurry to sell this, as I have a boxwood B chanter going out.  It comes with the usual warranty. It's a very nice chanter . . there's no catch! Contact me at info[at]hunterpipes.co.uk
