I'm going to
apologise once here
for all the piping you'll hear that's mine.
Here
you'll find some clips of the A chanter made recently for
Emmett. I couldn't resist trying it out with D drones and
regulators but it must be said that I let my normal standards of tuning
go out the window in the name of fun. The main problem being that
the chanter needs bang on G's (D's) to fit with the drones, and that
would take a new reed which would also have the side effect of a sharp
A and B - I also recorded the D drones clips in the workshop before the
final tuning. Anyway . . .
Here's some
of a recent Eb chanter. No EQ etc as always. Some
room reverb on the air.
If anyone
knows this
air please let me
know - I have it from a song about Anglo-Indians.
Here
you could hear young Sean
Potts turning in his grave, except that thankfully he's not yet dead.
And here
is a clip I couldn't
resist, I just can't believe how much it sounds like an old recording .
. .
Here
is a clip of a 17 key Northumbrian Small Pipe chanter made by
Peter some
time ago. He made one prototype, never even keyed it, and then
cracked
out this belting chanter.
If you want one of these, then tough. Too fiddly!! All
Mp3's are
less than 1meg.
